The Medical Assistant Program at Sussex County Community College teaches a range of key administrative and clinical duties to students, preparing them for roles in health care settings.

• Using computer applications
• Welcoming patients and scheduling appointments
• Updating and filing patient medical records
• Arranging hospital admissions and laboratory services
• Handling correspondence, billing, coding, insurance forms, and bookkeeping

• Taking medical history and preparing patients for exams
