The Medical Assisting program provides students with a diverse skill set to succeed as medical assistants in health care settings.

Skills Taught:

• Administrative Skills: Covering medical law, ethics, professional and patient relations, and medical office procedures.
• Clinical Skills: Hands-on experience in vital signs, drawing blood, injections, and minor surgeries.
• Medical Knowledge: Studies in anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, lab procedures, and pharmacology.
• Practical Experience: 160 hours of practicum in a physician's office.
• Certification Preparation: Eligibility for certifications like Certified Medical Assistant (CMA-AAMA) and Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
